The presentation first gave a theoretical background on e-NVH and its generation process focusing on switching noise. Then the presentation detailed the experimental test set-up using a SCIM washing machine motor controlled by an inverter following a SPWM strategy. The combination of a spectrogram at variable speed with an Operational Deflection Shape at fixed speed allowed to extract relevant information on the switching magnetic forces which matches the theory. The frequency and the wavenumber of the switching force harmonics have been identified together with resonances. Finally, the impact of control strategy randomization on sound quality has been assessed at a single speed based on loudness and tonality sound quality metrics both calculated with Mosqito open-source software.
